ABEL were engaged to build 3 off large control panels which initially were going to be straight forward new builds with all parts free issued by us, however, as is often the case, this plan changed to one of completing a half built panel from another supplier, with substantial modifications, and the two new panels which also had extensive changes to existing engineering drawings, basically the job turned into one that ordinarily I would be very uncomfortable sending to an outside supplier.
This was the first build ABEL did for us so both sides had a steep learning curve in not only build, management and engineering but also tech systems yet despite my misgivings the whole process went extremely well with good communication at build, engineering and project levels with ABEL fitting in with our systems and building a good working relationship with our engineering, logistics and management teams.
As the scope and requirements moved there was the inevitable impact to timings and cost to which ABEL demonstrated clear and honest communication with full transparency of costs, in short a good team to deal with who produced quality work in a timely controlled manner.
