ABEL’s team consists of highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable professionals that are passionate about delivery quality solutions for our customers.

The team has gained many years experience across a vast array of industries, delivering projects to all four corners of the globe, ranging from mining projects in Chile to Power generation projects in China.

Our team of engineers are equally at home working on small projects / upgrades as they are working on large multi-disciplined turnkey projects.

We pride ourselves on transferring knowledge and technology from one industry to another and this has proved invaluable on several projects and has gained us and our customers a technological advantage.

The Team is also complimented by Apprentices that gain a full grounding in engineering from control panel build, design, install and commissioning to ensure that ABEL have a talent group of engineers for the future.

An expert in his area

Nigel has been in the Electrical Automation industry since gaining a HND in Electrical engineering from Portsmouth Polytechnic in 1989.

He has an extensive knowledge of designing control systems utilising components from all the major manufacturers.

He is also an expert in PLC, HMI and SCADA programming utilising all the well known platforms as well as a few not so well know and now obsolete.

Nigel has traveled many miles commissioning system as diverse as Fly ash pneumatic conveying system in Taiwan, Copper mining equipment in Chile and Coal mining in China to name but a few.

Outside of work Nigel is a keen Nottingham Forest fan and has been a season ticket holder for over 25 years.

Nigel has always enjoyed sport and fitness, running over 20 marathons and in 2019 became a partner in a local gym.

Bernard Cassidy

Bernard has worked within the industrial automation sector for the past 30 years. He has a wealth of experience working extensively in distribution and system integration. Bernard joined ABEL Power in July 2019. He shares the same enthusiasm as the stakeholders in terms of its growth aspirations. Bernard believes he can add value and assist with its quest to succeed through knowledge and experience gained throughout his career.

Bernard is a quality driven, results orientated, innovative and experienced professional with excellent sales, business development and people management skills who performs to highest level. He has an in-depth knowledge of the sales cycle and has an excellent understanding of his clients thus ensuring success for them and ABEL Power.

Outside of work he has been married for 31 years with 3 grown up children. He is a musician playing drums, keyboards and lead singer in his own band travelling throughout the country. He recently hung up his sticks and microphone for a quieter life. He plans to take up golf with his newly acquired spare time !!.

Richard Mehta

Engineering Manager

Multi skilled manager

Richard has been in the LV design & automation engineering industry for over 17 years, working with in a vast range of different, challenging areas from the food to the power generation. He is competent from designing complete turnkey systems from initial concept through to commissioning, where he has had substantial experience across the world.

During his career he has gained invaluable knowledge of safety systems, designing/implementing/compliance also with time in designing ATEX rated control panels suitable for Zone 1 & 2. He can utilise many skills from drawing through to PLC/HMI programming giving an overall multi-disciplined engineering manager.

Outside of work he enjoys the gym, running and is keen in mixing & producing music.
